Singapore has opened online bidding for the first 624 luxury items forfeited in its S$3 billion money-laundering case. The two sales, handled by auction house Hotlotz, comprise 338 handbags and accessories and 286 jewellery lots with a combined pre-sale estimate of S$2.9 million to S$3.9 million. Bidding began on Sept. 7, with the handbags and accessories sale closing on Sept. 20 and the jewellery sale on Sept. 27. Participants worldwide can register, but must complete identity checks and bid online without using telephone, in-person or agent-assisted bids. The sales are part of 15 auctions Deloitte Singapore appointed Hotlotz to conduct from September 2026 through May 2027. The lots include a Yayoi Kusama Louis Vuitton bag, a 15.02-carat yellow diamond ring, a Hermès diamond bracelet and a Bulgari emerald-and-diamond necklace. Singapore’s investigation involved assets initially valued at about S$1 billion before the case-wide figure rose above S$3 billion; the auction estimates represent only a small portion of the assets surrendered to the state. Court and police records also describe USDT transactions linked to convicted individuals and proceeds from illegal remote gambling. Further auctions are expected to include Hermès handbags and watches from Patek Philippe, Richard Mille and Rolex, with catalogues to be released closer to their bidding dates.
