The Detroit Lions restructured the contracts of wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and left tackle Penei Sewell, creating $35.68 million in salary-cap space. Detroit now ranks second in the league with about $38 million available, according to Over The Cap and Spotrac, and can carry that space into 2027. The additional flexibility could support an in-season move before the trade deadline or long-term extensions for tight end Sam LaPorta and safety Brian Branch. The restructuring converted portions of both players’ salaries into signing bonuses, with Sewell’s deal also gaining a void year.
