Hey Wallet, a Solana-based social wallet, announced it is shutting down and directed users to heywallet.com to back up their wallets and export private keys before the service goes offline. No shutdown date or reason was provided. Launched in 2021 after a Solana hackathon, Hey Wallet connected blockchain functions with social platforms, allowing users to send SOL through X handles, tip creators on Discord, swap tokens through Telegram and mint NFTs. The closure follows shutdowns by other wallet services this year, including HaHa Wallet and Magic Eden’s ME Wallet. Users holding SOL or other Solana-based tokens were told to export their private keys or seed phrases and import them into Phantom, Solflare or another compatible Solana wallet. The assets remain on the blockchain rather than on Hey Wallet’s servers, so users can retain access if they complete the migration.
