SpaceX is set to receive a substantially larger Nasdaq 100 weighting later this month, with Nasdaq pro forma data indicating an increase to about 2.82% from roughly 1.28%. The final weighting remains subject to confirmation, but the adjustment could require billions of dollars in purchases by funds tracking the benchmark, including the $481 billion Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1. The higher weighting reflects an expanding public float as insider lockups expire following SpaceX's July index entry. Baird Financial Group initiated a 78,590-share SPCX position valued at about $13.4 million during the second quarter, while several smaller institutions also opened holdings. SpaceX reported second-quarter revenue of $7.81 billion, up 91.9% from a year earlier, and a $0.09 per-share loss, narrower than the consensus forecast. Bret Johnsen, SpaceX CFO, announced an AI-computing contract worth about $1.11 billion a month, with revenue scheduled to begin on December 1.
