Hyundai Motor Group plans to accelerate autonomous-driving development through a data flywheel, Nvidia-based driver-assistance systems and vision-language-action models. The group will apply Level 2+ functions based on Nvidia solutions to mass-produced vehicles in the first half of 2028, followed by Level 2++ vehicles in the second half. It plans to mass-produce Level 2++ vehicles using its proprietary Atria AI platform in the second half of 2029. Hyundai and Kia sell more than 7 million vehicles annually across about 190 countries and expect their data-gathering scale to surpass rivals such as Tesla in accumulated driving data by 2033. The group is also testing Atria-equipped software-defined vehicles, standardizing data across Hyundai Motor, Kia, 42dot and Motional, and preparing autonomous-driving pace cars for domestic road testing.
