Coinbase’s Bitcoin premium index has remained below zero for seven consecutive trading days, with the latest reading at -0.0205%, according to BlockBeats citing CoinGlass data reported on Sept. 13. The index measures Bitcoin’s price difference between Coinbase and Binance. A negative reading generally indicates that Bitcoin is trading at a lower price on Coinbase, suggesting weaker buying demand in the U.S. market or stronger selling pressure. The index previously turned positive on Aug. 24 at 0.0052%, ending a record 97-day period of negative readings. However, the gauge alone cannot establish whether U.S. institutional capital is flowing out.
