Coinbase has launched Pulse Mode, a simplified mobile interface for perpetual futures trading inside Coinbase Wallet, shortly after renaming the application from Base App back to Coinbase Wallet. Eligible users can open and manage leveraged long or short positions without leaving the self-custodial wallet for a separate exchange. Coinbase Wallet’s perpetual markets are powered by Hyperliquid and are available only to non-U.S. users in selected jurisdictions, while the company has not disclosed Pulse Mode-specific fees, leverage limits, order types, margin options, risk controls or complete market coverage. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong announced the feature in a Sept. 12, 2026, post on X. The launch expands Coinbase’s broader derivatives push, which includes a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to offer single-stock perpetual futures to U.S. investors and recent bitcoin-backed mortgage products built with Better. As of Sept. 13, 2026, Coinbase had not announced U.S. access, a rollout completion date or trading statistics for Pulse Mode.
