BNB Chain led CryptoRank’s 2026 blockchain ranking by real-world asset (RWA) value growth, adding $3.62 billion, and reclaimed second place behind Ethereum in decentralized-finance (DeFi) total value locked (TVL). DeFiLlama data cited by PANews via DEGEN NEWS showed BNB Chain at roughly $5.935 billion versus Solana’s $5.887 billion, a gap of about $48 million, or less than 1%. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao acknowledged the shift but said BNB Chain still has substantial ground to cover before overtaking Ethereum, and urged the ecosystem to prioritize expansion and core infrastructure over short-term gains or rivalry. Solana continued to lead in decentralized-exchange volume and application revenue.
