Nu disclosed a staged rollout of U.S. financial products and Nu Global on Sept. 10 through a company release and SEC filing. The U.S. offering, provided through FDIC-member Lead Bank, includes deposit accounts paying 3.50% APY, debit cards, domestic and international transfers, and a no-annual-fee Mastercard World Elite credit card with 1.5% unlimited cashback initially. Nu Global operates separately through Swiss-based Nu Global AG, converting customer funds into Circle-issued USDC or EURC and supporting transfers across more than 35 countries. The company currently advertises 3.50% APY on USDC and 2.20% on EURC, with both rates accruing daily, while users can also access a virtual Mastercard and trade a limited selection of digital assets including Bitcoin and Ethereum. Nu says products will be released in stages, with users able to register for access. Its own U.S. national bank charter remains at the preliminary conditional-approval stage, requiring FDIC insurance, Federal Reserve membership and completion of OCC preopening conditions before Nubank, N.A. can operate.
