Crypto markets adopted a more defensive tone this week as rising Treasury yields, higher oil prices and increasing expectations for Federal Reserve rate hikes pressured risk assets, pushing Bitcoin below $77,000. Selling was uneven, however, with capital continuing to move into utility-focused themes including DeFi (decentralized finance) and privacy tokens. Venice Token (VVV) led the weekly winners, rising more than 35% and reaching a new all-time high. Its weekly RSI (Relative Strength Index, a momentum gauge) remains below overbought territory, unlike during the early-May rally, when the indicator helped cap the token near $20. VVV also broke through $20 resistance, leaving a possible path toward $25-$30 next week if it holds above that level. Bitway (BTW) gained 22% but has risen for six consecutive weeks, faces resistance near $0.60 and has an overbought RSI, suggesting a possible correction before another challenge. Injective (INJ) climbed 10% on Thursday and appears technically stronger, with a neutral RSI and a potential move toward $6-$7 by the end of September. Other major gainers included Lisk (LSK), up 877%, GreenHood (HOOD), up 455%, and Stonk (STONK), up 237%. Arbitrum (ARB) was the largest weekly decliner, falling 27% after a 124% gain the previous week; its decline appears linked to resistance near $0.20 rather than a confirmed trend reversal. Ethena (ENA) lost 21% and is testing $0.15 for a third consecutive week, while a weakening RSI leaves open either prolonged accumulation or a bull trap, with $0.10 the first key level. Dash (DASH) dropped 21% after a 70% rebound the prior week and rejection near $80. Safebit (SAFE), Basecat (BASECAT) and Cluster Protocol (CP) fell 67%, 66% and 54%, respectively. The week’s market action combined sharp rallies and declines, underscoring the need for independent research and disciplined trading.
