South Korea’s Financial Services Commission is pursuing a three-stage legal framework for tokenized securities, with the final phase targeting stablecoin-linked on-chain payments and interoperability across distributed ledgers. The Korea Blockchain Industry Promotion Association has asked the National Assembly to revise provisions that could restrict transfers between ledgers, public-blockchain use and participation by non-financial companies. The industry also proposed a one- to two-year sunset review and an interoperability sandbox. The broader initiative includes tokenized stocks, bonds and funds, with 24/7 trading identified as an objective and Ripple’s network previously described as a central platform.
