AstraZeneca reported updated oncology data showing sustained survival benefits for Tagrisso in early-stage EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer, while Daiichi Sankyo's Enhertu outperformed pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy on progression-free survival in first-line HER2-mutant disease. Eight-year ADAURA follow-up found Tagrisso reduced the risk of death by 47% in the primary population and 48% across the overall population, with 79% of Tagrisso-treated patients alive versus 64% receiving placebo. DESTINY-Lung04 showed Enhertu reduced the risk of progression or death by 37%, producing median progression-free survival of 14.3 months versus 8.3 months and an objective response rate of 70.0% versus 44.5%, although overall-survival data were immature and showed no observed benefit. AstraZeneca's Etcamah combination missed the primary progression-free survival endpoint in the SERENA-4 breast cancer trial despite numerical improvements. AstraZeneca shares rose 1.86% to $163.14 in premarket trading Monday.
