Japanese crypto exchange bitbank will delist Enjin Coin (ENJ) at 10 a.m. on Oct. 16, citing persistent price divergence between the Ethereum-based ENJ it handles and ENJ on the Enjin Relay Chain, which is operated independently by the token’s issuer. The exchange said the lack of an official bridge between the chains has restricted cross-chain transfers, weakened liquidity and made proper price formation and stable service provision difficult. Bitbank had warned users on Aug. 13 last year after its ENJ price diverged by roughly 20% from other exchanges. It will cancel recurring over-the-counter purchases, stop accepting new orders, cancel unfilled orders, and suspend deposits and withdrawals at the delisting time. The margin-collateral valuation ratio will fall from 50% to 0% on Sept. 30. Remaining ENJ will generally be converted into Japanese yen at market prices after withdrawals are halted, a process expected to take about one month. ENJ was trading at $0.02646, down 3.25%, according to CoinMarketCap at the time of writing. The move comes amid broader token delistings in Japan as exchanges prepare for tighter oversight under amended Financial Instruments and Exchange Act rules.
