Koh Young-chul, chairman of the Credit Union Central Association, was elected president of the Asian Credit Union Confederation (ACCU) at its 45th Annual General Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on September 13. His term will run through 2028. The meeting was held alongside the 2026 Asian Credit Union Forum, which brought together 571 credit union officials from 22 Asian countries under the theme "The Unspoken Reality, Bold Connection: Transition and Resilience of Credit Unions in the 2026+ Era." Discussions covered financial innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, governance, organizational innovation and member-centered management. The Credit Union Central Association also presented its shared growth cooperative program, launched in 2014 to connect larger partner cooperatives with smaller growth cooperatives for exchanges of management expertise and human resources capabilities.
