Tesla has registered Tesla Motors Vietnam Limited Liability Company in Ho Chi Minh City, creating a subsidiary authorized to import, distribute and sell vehicles, parts, machinery and equipment. The unit began operating on September 11 with charter capital of 77.667 billion Vietnamese dong, or roughly $3 million, and its filing indicates an imported-vehicle sales and after-sales operation rather than local assembly. Tesla has not said when sales will begin or where vehicles for Vietnam would be sourced. The expansion gives Tesla another potential market for Shanghai-built cars as its share of China's battery-electric vehicle market has fallen and VinFast dominates Vietnam's domestic EV market. Kalshi traders put a 55% chance on Tesla exceeding 490,000 third-quarter deliveries, below its record 497,099 deliveries in the third quarter of 2025.
