Pi Network shipped Pi Desktop version 0.6.3, an update to SoloHost, its framework for self-hosted apps. The release improves app discovery and reliability through community app rankings based on current usage and a readiness check for unresponsive apps. It also adds a My Apps dashboard, login and display-name fixes, an AI coding-agent starter repository and Docker Compose testing options for developers. Pi Desktop is the software Pioneers use to run Pi Nodes, and future releases will use Pi Desktop rather than Pi Node as the product name. The Pi Core Team announced the SoloHost update on Sept. 10, 2026, saying it gives Pi Desktop and Nodes roles beyond blockchain validation. PI is trading near $0.097, up roughly 9% over the past month after rising from a low near $0.071, but remains more than 96% below its February 2025 all-time high near $2.99. The release does not add a new way for Pioneers to spend or hold PI. A plan to pay top node operators in PI for distributed computing work remains in progress and is not included. The development extends a concern BeInCrypto raised after Pi2Day's June product launch, when only PiVerify among three introduced tools appeared to offer a plausible path to new PI demand.
