BNB Chain has reclaimed the No. 2 position in decentralized finance total value locked, moving ahead of Solana with roughly $5.935 billion versus $5.887 billion, according to DeFiLlama data. The approximately $48 million gap is less than 1% and remains vulnerable to changes in token prices, deposits, withdrawals and protocol activity. Ethereum leads with about $50 billion, while BNB Chain, Solana, Base and Tron are clustered in the $5 billion-to-$6 billion range. BNB Chain added more than $3.6 billion in real-world asset value during 2026, compared with Solana’s $2.6 billion growth, according to CryptoRank data. PancakeSwap is its largest TVL contributor, while low transaction fees and its connection to the world’s largest crypto exchange support user access. Solana continues to lead in decentralized-exchange volume and application revenue, with high throughput supporting trading-focused applications. Both networks are pursuing real-world asset tokenization, stablecoin liquidity and institutional partnerships.
