Broadcom CEO Hock Tan said the company has not changed its AI semiconductor revenue forecasts of $115 billion for fiscal 2027 and $230 billion for fiscal 2028, despite a market selloff after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei urged a slower pace of frontier-AI development. Tan said demand for AI infrastructure, including inference compute used to generate model outputs, should remain strong, and that Anthropic is on track to become Broadcom’s largest custom-chip customer in 2027 and retain that position through 2028. He said AI needs guardrails and governance but will create substantial value, comparing its potential impact with the Industrial Revolution. Broadcom shares fell between 4.43% and 4.8% at reported Monday trading points, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell more than 5% and the iShares Semiconductor ETF declined 5.6%.
