The UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority has shifted the Digital Vault of the national UAEPASS identity platform onto an Avalanche L1, a dedicated blockchain designed for the service. UAEPASS enables citizens, residents and visitors to access online services, sign documents and present verified credentials, and serves about 12.5 million users across more than 15,000 services and over 350 government and private-sector entities. The move confirms Avalanche’s previously unverified claim that it would provide infrastructure for the vault. TDRA said the upgrade is intended to accommodate growing demand while preserving trust in the platform. The dedicated network gives the regulator control over participation, permissions and configuration, while separating identity-service activity from unrelated network traffic. Avalanche said the architecture can reduce repetitive document checks by establishing trust when records are issued, speeding processes such as banking and visa applications. Avalanche also scheduled its Helicon upgrade for September 22, 2026, with auto-renewed staking and shorter minimum staking periods among its planned features.
