GAC Commercial Vehicle used IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover to present its T9 autonomous and battery-swapping trucks, the MONTX light commercial vehicle brand and the production SMILODON Pro pickup. The T9 Robotruck combines Pony.ai's fourth-generation Level 4 autonomous-driving technology with a fully redundant drive-by-wire chassis equipped with nine LiDARs, three radars and 13 cameras. GAC said hardware costs are 70% lower than the previous generation and autonomous transport costs are approximately 30% lower per ton-kilometer. Its T9 Battery Swap EV Tractor uses a 603-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery, offers up to 475 kilometers of range and can be swapped in about three to five minutes through Aulton's system. GAC Commercial Vehicle also introduced MONTX's P10 and V10 concepts, its All-Domain Adaptive Architecture and the MONTX Makers user co-creation program. The company said sales rose 205% year on year in the first half of 2026 and that it is expanding through GAC Group's network across 110 countries and regions. SMILODON Pro is already available in Central and South America and the Middle East, with availability planned in around 30 countries by the end of 2026. Pony.ai has separately said it is discussing European road tests with governments, ports and prospective customers, while planning European and Middle Eastern Robotruck expansion over the next two years.
