Open Cosmos raised €300 million in an oversubscribed round led by Lightrock to expand satellite manufacturing and its OpenConstellation, ConnectedCosmos and DataCosmos services. Founded in 2015 and based in Oxford, the company employs nearly 400 people across the U.K., Spain, Portugal and Greece, and says it can produce one satellite daily across four European factories. The funding comes amid a broader investment surge in European space companies, although U.S. firms captured 67% of private space investment in 2025 versus 12.8% for European companies, according to OECD data cited by CNBC.
