Umar Kremlev, a Russian businessman and president of the International Boxing Association, funded or hosted two nights of celebrations after Donald Trump Jr. married Bettina Trump in the Bahamas. The couple said their private, family-only wedding was followed by celebrations hosted by Kremlev as a gift and rejected claims that the arrangement was political or carried an agenda. ProPublica reported that Kremlev was among roughly 50 attendees at the Caribbean wedding and covered hundreds of thousands of dollars in related costs, including a private-island rental and fireworks display. A Trump Jr. spokesperson did not dispute Kremlev's payments, described him as a personal friend, and said the two have no business relationship. Kremlev heads the Switzerland-based IBA, which has been financed by Russian state energy company Gazprom, recently joined Russian President Vladimir Putin's delegation to China, and is under Ukrainian sanctions describing him as a close friend of the head of Putin's security service.
