World Liberty Financial has put its proposed $WLFI Governance Engagement Incentive Program to a forum vote, targeting an October 1, 2026 launch for a system that would reward holders who lock unlocked tokens and actively participate in governance. Participants would need to use a non-custodial on-chain protocol for an initial 180-day term and cast at least one direct vote every 90 days to remain eligible; delegated votes would not qualify. Rewards would come from a variable pool funded by ecosystem sources including World Liberty Markets and Dolomite fees, treasury allocations and other incentives, with top-ups every two weeks. Voting power under the protocol would use square-root weighting based on stake size and remaining lockup time, while no participant could hold more than 5% of voting power through the system. All $WLFI holders would retain underlying governance rights regardless of participation. The proposal follows an earlier ecosystem plan approved on March 12, 2026 and separate tiered Node and Super Node staking plans floated in March. It comes as World Liberty Financial remains involved in Justin Sun's lawsuit concerning frozen tokens and governance rights. WLFI traded just below $0.060 when reported, down about 1.4% over 24 hours but up roughly 2% from a week earlier.
