A Cumberland-linked wallet withdrew 14.6 million Polygon (POL) tokens worth $1.41 million from Binance, Gate and Coinbase, analyst Nazoku reported. The tokens were subsequently transferred to another wallet. Withdrawals by Cumberland, a market maker, can remove inventory from exchange order books and temporarily reduce selling pressure, although such movements may also reflect routine inventory rebalancing for liquidity provision. Polygon remains under pressure from broader institutional and retail selling. Days earlier, FalconX deposited 14 million POL into Binance, and the selling pressure has continued for an extended period. Polygon’s Exchange Supply Ratio (the share of tokens held on exchanges) rose to a two-week high of 0.00035, indicating increased POL flows to exchanges and a larger amount potentially available for immediate sale. POL was rejected at $0.98 four days ago and subsequently posted lower closes, falling to $0.94 before trading in a narrow range around $0.095 and $0.094. At press time, it traded near $0.095, up 0.98% on the day. Trading volume increased 158% to $83 million, while spot volume rose 35% to $8.17 million, a $2.9 million increase over 24 hours, and futures volume climbed 15% to $38 million, up $6.1 million. The increase across both markets points to higher participation and capital deployment for positioning. Polygon’s upside momentum has weakened, with the positive ADX (trend-strength indicator) measured with SMA declining for two consecutive weeks, while ADX made a bearish crossover and the negative index remained within a parallel line. The setup indicates stronger downside pressure than upside momentum. If the DI continues to fall, POL could breach $0.09 and decline to $0.089. If Cumberland’s withdrawals reduce selling pressure, POL could hold $0.094 and target a close above $0.099.
