South Korea’s KOSPI stood at 6,683.26 at 11:06 a.m. on the 15th, down 0.02%, after opening lower and falling as far as 6,625.15. Retail investors and other corporate entities bought a combined net ₩1.06 trillion, helping offset net selling of ₩1.0614 trillion by foreigners and institutions. The KOSDAQ rose 2.00% to 822.91, led by technology and robotics shares. Overnight declines in all three major US indexes, a rise in the US 10-year Treasury yield above 5.0%, higher oil prices and concerns about AI investment weighed on South Korean stocks. Kiwoom Securities analyst Han Ji-young said the market could recover its previous-session losses because much of the concern appeared to have been priced in. Treasury yields and oil prices remain key near-term variables.
