Shinhan Securities is deepening cooperation across Japan, Hong Kong and Vietnam to build a two-way investment platform linking South Korean and overseas capital markets. Chief Executive Lee Sun-hoon visited the three markets and met financial institutions, securities firms, regulators and exchange officials. In Japan, Shinhan Securities discussed potential Korea-Japan ventures with Mizuho Securities and Rakuten Securities, including research cooperation and using the Mizuho Investment Conference to introduce Korean and Japanese companies to global institutional investors. In Hong Kong, it signed a memorandum of understanding with CICC International covering foreign investor omnibus accounts and wealth management, aiming to improve overseas investors’ access to South Korea’s capital market through both firms’ networks. In Vietnam, Lee discussed investor exchanges, capital-market cooperation and potential investment-banking opportunities with officials from the State Securities Commission and Vietnam Exchange. The strategy adds to Shinhan Securities’ earlier stake purchase in 24X and its MOU with GF Securities on foreign investor omnibus account services.
