Bitcoin short-term holders have remained profitable for roughly 30 days, with profitable positions valued at about $168.2 billion as of Sept. 15, compared with approximately $102.6 billion in losses. Overall Bitcoin investors have stayed net profitable since Aug. 19. The cost basis for investors holding BTC for one to three months was about $63,372, while the figure for three- to six-month holders was approximately $73,190. CryptoQuant contributor Darkfost has described sustained short-term-holder profitability as a pattern that appeared near the end of previous bear markets. Short-term holders briefly returned to profit in January but held those gains for less than two weeks, while more supply remained underwater in May. If Bitcoin maintains current levels and stabilizes above $80,000, the pattern could help assess whether the bear market has ended.
