Ford unveiled the 2027 F-150 with the 5.0-liter V8 available across the lineup, lower starting prices for select performance trucks, BlueCruise with Towing and the first F-150 Carhartt edition. The changes are intended to expand customer choice and support sales of key models, a strategy CEO Jim Farley has promoted. The refresh follows a 13.3% decline in U.S. F-Series sales during the first six months of 2026, when aluminum shortages linked to fires at Novelis plants cost Ford $2 billion and reduced production by roughly 90,000 to 100,000 units. Ford has since increased output to bring supply into balance. The 2027 F-150 retains the 3.5-liter EcoBoost, which tows up to 13,500 pounds, and the PowerBoost hybrid with its onboard generator. A new 3.0-liter engine replaces the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and delivers 10% to 11% more torque in everyday driving, according to Ford. BlueCruise with Towing operates on more than 130,000 miles of divided Blue Zone highways and was tested with 800 trailer configurations. The system monitors trailer sway, tire pressure and the surrounding environment but is limited to highways and requires trailer dimensions. About 70% of the lineup receives visual updates. New Tremor Low and Raptor Low equipment groups reduce entry prices by retaining off-road hardware while removing some features; the Tremor Low starts about $5,300 below the current version and the Raptor Low about $4,000 lower, bringing the entry-level Raptor near $75,000. The Carhartt package starts at $62,660 before destination charges and includes branded seats and floor mats, a spray-in bedliner and exterior accents. The truck goes on sale in early 2027, with Carhartt orders opening alongside the unveiling.
