Wholesale sales in Canada, excluding petroleum and hydrocarbon products, rose 0.3% month over month to a seasonally adjusted C$93.09 billion (US$66.96 billion) in July 2026, Statistics Canada said. The result was stronger than the agency’s advance estimate of a 0.6% decline and followed a 2.8% increase in June. The gain was supported by higher sales of metal products, as well as advances in building materials and supplies, which rose 3.5% to C$13.8 billion, and food, beverage and tobacco products, which increased 1.7% to C$16.67 billion. Farm-product sales fell 1.9% to C$1.8 billion, while personal and household goods sales declined 1.5% to C$12.8 billion. Wholesalers raised prices to support turnover, while sales volumes decreased 0.6% from the previous month.
