Gold rebounded Wednesday after two losing sessions, with spot prices rising 1.2% to $4,346.46 an ounce and futures gaining 1.3% to $4,388.34. Markets priced roughly a 92% probability of a Federal Reserve rate increase at the September FOMC meeting, which would be the first increase since 2023, while investors focused on the policy vote, projections and guidance on possible further hikes in 2026 and 2027. Higher energy prices, inflation concerns and Treasury yields continued to pressure non-interest-bearing bullion, while stocks showed limited immediate concern: a Benzinga poll of 272 respondents found 49% expected SPY to finish higher, 33% lower and 18% unchanged.
