Skyworks Solutions shares rose 11% to $87.92 on Tuesday, leading S&P 500 gainers after falling more than 10% the previous session amid broad AI-related market volatility. The rebound followed CEO Philip Brace’s comments that Skyworks and Qorvo are preparing to complete their $22 billion cash-and-stock transaction this fiscal year, which ends September 30. U.S. antitrust clearance is complete, leaving approval from China’s State Administration for Market Regulation as the sole outstanding requirement. The combination of two major Apple iPhone component suppliers would create a semiconductor business focused on radio-frequency, analog and mixed-signal technologies. Brace cited $500 million in anticipated synergies, a mobile division of about $5.5 billion and non-mobile operations of $2.5 billion to $2.6 billion, while emphasizing limited handset product overlap and potential expansion into aerospace and defense. Qorvo shares gained 7.2% to $115.79 after falling 7.4% Monday. Skyworks had risen 19% over the prior week and 31% in September, was up 39% year to date and 18% over 12 months, but remained 56% below its record closing price of $199.66 set April 26, 2021.
