Vera Bradley reported earnings per share of $0.11, surpassing analyst expectations for a $0.08 loss. Revenue increased 1.1% year over year to $71.65 million, which the company described as roughly $71.6 million, while direct-to-consumer sales rose 8.0%. Chief Executive Ian Bickley said continued sales growth and a strong back-to-school season showed the turnaround was bearing fruit. The quarter marked Vera Bradley’s second consecutive period of overall revenue growth, following the company’s statement in June that the turnaround had reached an inflection point.
