TYM has signed a memorandum of understanding with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture to supply and field-test compressed natural gas (CNG) tractors. The agreement was signed at the Korea-Uzbekistan Business Forum held on the 15th at the Shilla Hotel’s guest house in Seoul, and TYM announced it on the 17th. The parties will test TYM’s T6092 CNG tractor at Uzbek farm sites through the end of 2028, evaluating performance, fuel efficiency, emissions reduction and field productivity. They plan to phase in demonstrations and supply, use field data to develop a cooperation model, market-entry strategy and financial and institutional support plans, and review commercialization under separate contracts. TYM says CNG tractors can reduce fuel costs by more than 50% compared with the diesel tractors mainly used in Uzbekistan. Replacing imported diesel with domestically produced natural gas could also support Uzbekistan’s energy security and reduce exposure to global oil-price fluctuations. TYM developed the 92-horsepower T6092 in cooperation with the Uzbek government in 2024 using a bi-fuel system that combines gasoline for driving with CNG for field work. The company said the pilot is intended to support agricultural mechanization, eco-friendly farming and the eventual commercialization of the tractor.
