Applicants whose birth years end in odd and even numbers can apply on October 7 and 8, respectively, while applications open to everyone from October 12. Eligible applicants can open accounts from November 16 to 27 after screening. The three-year product is available to people aged 19 to 34, with monthly deposits of 1,000 won to 500,000 won and government matching contributions of 6% for the general type and 12% for the preferential type. Including tax-exempt interest income, the products offer effective annual rates of up to 14.4% and 19.4%, respectively. For this round, applicants must have been born between November 17, 1991, and November 27, 2007. Income eligibility includes annual salary of 75 million won or less, or annual sales of 300 million won or less for small business owners, with household income at or below 200% of median income. Eligible small and medium-sized enterprise employees, new hires and small business owners can apply for the preferential type. Existing Youth Leap Account holders can switch after screening and account opening while retaining matching contributions and tax benefits on prior deposits. The Financial Services Commission plans a third round after the 2027 budget bill and related arrangements are completed.
