Six Malaysian men received prison sentences for an April 2024 armed robbery at a Singapore home hosting high-stakes poker games, where the group stole about S$4.9 million in cryptocurrency, cash and luxury items. Wong Chi San and Goh Boon Tong, identified as the planners, each received 12 years and 11 months in prison, 24 strokes of the cane and a S$4,000 fine. Police recovered about S$1.69 million, leaving roughly S$3.21 million unrecovered. Prosecutors said about S$3.6 million in cryptocurrency was taken from the game's hostess, including transfers involving USDT. A seventh suspect, Muhammad Yusuf Kassim, remains at large and is believed to have travelled from Malaysia to Thailand.
