Fastmarkets announced a collaboration with TMX Trayport to support Fastmarkets Connect, its digital platform for the physical lithium market. The initiative combines Fastmarkets' lithium-market expertise with TMX Trayport's established technology to improve transparency, connectivity and access to spot liquidity. The platform is the renamed version of the digital price-discovery and trade-initiation offering announced in June at the Global Lithium, Battery & Critical Materials conference in Las Vegas. TMX Trayport will provide the platform technology, while Fastmarkets will operate Fastmarkets Connect and oversee its governance, development and market-participant engagement. The platform is being developed with input from an advisory group representing participants across the lithium value chain. Fastmarkets says its IOSCO-compliant benchmark prices underpin physical lithium contracts and serve as settlement references for futures listed on CME, the London Metal Exchange, ICE and SGX.
