MEXC said it intercepted all 215 reports involving risk-related funds during July and August 2026, covering 38,655,490 USDT, including 42 cases involving judicial freezes. The exchange also identified and restricted 20,752 risk-related accounts, returned 602,225 USDT in misdirected assets and reported a 791,696,422 USDT Futures Insurance Fund as of September 1, 2026. The fund covers negative balances arising during liquidations and helps reduce the risk of auto-deleveraging (forced position reductions during market stress). MEXC said reserve ratios for BTC, ETH, USDT and USDC all exceeded 100%, with BTC reserves at approximately 288%. The report also noted 184 crypto security incidents industrywide during the two-month period, involving about $535 million in losses, while attackers increasingly used artificial intelligence to generate phishing content and help write malware. MEXC said it plans to expand its Guardian Fund from $100 million to $500 million and deepen cooperation with industry participants and law enforcement.
