More than half of Gen Z professionals, 55%, plan to look for a new job before the end of 2026, up from 32% one year earlier, according to research from Robert Half. Salary is a major factor, with 53% saying changing employers could provide greater earning potential. Gen Z workers also cited stronger perks and benefits, limited advancement opportunities and workplace flexibility. Among those seeking jobs, 37% reported difficulty keeping their AI skills current. While 87% use AI professionally, 24% said incorporating it into daily work has contributed to burnout, driven by productivity pressure, job-security concerns and continuous learning demands. The research was based on two surveys of more than 440 Gen Z professionals in the United States, conducted by an independent research firm in March and April 2026.
