Salesforce experienced a major cloud-services outage on Wednesday during Dreamforce 2026 in San Francisco, affecting hundreds of customer instances across the United States, the UK, Germany, France, India and Japan. Users in all three operational zones reported severe delays, intermittent errors or complete loss of access to platform features. Salesforce said requests were stalling while waiting for responses from an internal login service, consuming available server resources, and that elevated load on a core component was the underlying cause. Engineers validated a fix in a test environment by 6:56 a.m. Eastern time and began deploying it across affected territories. Service was starting to return to normal, and the company said the disruption had been fully addressed, although a comprehensive code-based solution to prevent a recurrence remained under development. Salesforce shares fell roughly 0.4% to 0.5% in premarket trading, near $254.40, after closing Tuesday at $255.65. Dreamforce runs from Sept. 15 through Sept. 18 and includes more than 400 sessions focused heavily on the company's vision for the "Agentic Enterprise," including AIforce, an expanded Google Cloud partnership and a collaboration with Anthropic involving Claude. The outage followed fiscal second-quarter results showing revenue of $11.35 billion, up 11% from a year earlier, and a $200 million increase in Salesforce's annual revenue projection.
