DataMEDS AI shares surged 274.69% to $6.07 on Wednesday after completing its $1.5 million acquisition of Helomics Corporation from Axe Compute Inc. The stock reached $12.31 intraday from a low of $4 and rose 2.31% to $6.21 in extended trading. The transaction adds Helomics’ CLIA/CAP-certified clinical laboratory, Predictive Oncology contract research organization central lab services and $1.5 million in cash in exchange for DataMEDS common shares and an acquisition note. Helomics has no third-party debt or accounts payable beyond regular monthly operating expenses. The Pittsburgh-based functional precision medicine oncology platform uses artificial intelligence to analyze real-world tumor data, broadening DataMEDS’ activities beyond GLP-1 agonist side-effect management and Long COVID care. DataMEDS’ move came as U.S. stocks mostly declined after the Federal Reserve raised its federal funds target range by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00%, its first rate increase since 2023.
