Indonesian Rupiah stablecoin IDRX went live on Celo on September 15, expanding the payments-focused blockchain's stablecoin and currency-token ecosystem. Issued by PT IDRX Indo Inovasi, IDRX is backed 1:1 by Rupiah-denominated reserves held as fiat and Indonesian government bonds at regulated financial institutions. The issuer publishes reserve documentation, which is audited by independent third parties. IDRX is Celo's 20th token representing a global currency and its 33rd live stablecoin. Crosschain FX network Textile FX supports IDRX-USDT trading from launch, with institutional liquidity led by Tribeca Park Capital. Celo's stablecoin ecosystem now processes $6.2 billion in monthly volume, while Textile FX said it cleared a record $328,000 in daily onchain FX volume last week. The launch coincides with Lisk's planned deprecation on October 31 and Celo's broader push to attract Global South developers. Indonesia recorded $17.6 billion in remittance inflows in 2025, ranked seventh in Chainalysis' 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index and fourth globally by value received by DeFi protocols.
