Sean "Diddy" Combs’ civil lawyers are seeking to withdraw from his $100 million defamation lawsuit against Nexstar Media, Ariel Mitchell and Courtney Burgess, citing more than six months of unpaid bills and an unwillingness to cooperate. Combs’ representative disputes the fee allegations, saying he changed lawyers because he believed he was being overcharged for unapproved expenses. The suit concerns NewsNation’s Banfield program, which reported allegations that Combs possessed videos involving sexual misconduct with minors and used drug-laced baby oil to incapacitate assault victims. A judge dismissed three of Combs’ four claims against Nexstar for failing to show actual malice, while allowing the drug-laced baby oil claim to proceed toward settlement discussions or trial. The parties are weighing settlement talks. Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison after convictions on two prostitution counts, while he was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and two sex-trafficking counts. He is being held at Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey and is scheduled for release in May 2028. More than 70 civil lawsuits name him as a defendant over alleged sexual misconduct and assault, allegations he denies.
