Alvotech shares rose approximately 8% on Wednesday after Barclays analyst Glen Santangelo upgraded the stock from Underweight to Overweight and doubled his price target from $4 to $8. The shares reached about $5.42, although they remained below the 52-week high of $9.25, while the move marked the strongest single-session performance since December, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The rally followed the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) assigning Alvotech’s Reykjavik facility a Voluntary Action Indicated status in July, its most positive inspection classification. Alvotech subsequently submitted revised applications for three biosimilar candidates, with FDA decisions targeted for December 4, 2026. The company maintained its fiscal 2026 revenue forecast of $650 million to $700 million, while production at full capacity resumed in the second quarter of 2026. The FDA has also accepted Alvotech’s application for AVT16, with a decision anticipated in the first quarter of 2027. The company is expanding manufacturing through a collaboration with Fujifilm Biotechnologies in the United States, where additional capacity is expected to begin operating in 2027.
