Blackstone and Google, Alphabet’s subsidiary, have secured $22 billion from a 10-bank syndicate for Crux AI, their cloud-computing venture for artificial-intelligence workloads. The debt will fund purchases of Google Tensor Processing Units, secured by the chips and Crux AI customer agreements, while some lenders are also providing a separate $1 billion revolving credit facility. Blackstone committed $5 billion in initial equity and Google is contributing TPU technology, software platforms and support services. Crux AI, unveiled in May and launched last week, targets 500 megawatts of operational data-center infrastructure by 2027. Alphabet shares rose about 1% in premarket trading after the announcement, following a $342.87 close that marked a 0.61% decline. Lenders are syndicating the facility and the bridge financing could later be refinanced through investment-grade bonds.
