Hyundai Card is moving its Avalanche-based stablecoin payment experiment into a scale-testing phase after completing a live $20,000 intercompany transfer between Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Motor Mexico. Hyundai Motor America converted dollars into Tether's USDT, sent the tokens over Avalanche, and the receiving entity converted them back into U.S. dollars. Hyundai Card said the full remittance and verification process took roughly seven minutes, compared with three to four hours or more through its existing interbank process. The company handled regulatory review, accounting, tax checks, internal controls and settlement design, with Tether, Avalanche and Axiym supporting the pilot. Hyundai Card now plans to assess whether the model can reliably handle larger transaction volumes. It has not announced a group-wide rollout or commercial deployment date. A previously announced European proof of concept involving non-dollar currencies, Circle and Visa has not been publicly confirmed as completed.
