Alteogen has completed an international Patent Cooperation Treaty application for its Long-Acting Conjugate platform, which combines multiple active molecules in a single conjugate to extend drug half-life and therapeutic duration. The platform builds on Alteogen’s antibody-conjugation technology and is designed to support less frequent dosing while maintaining treatment efficacy. Its first application, ALT-M5, is an obesity candidate targeting once-monthly administration. Animal studies indicated monthly dosing potential and a more gradual weight regain curve after treatment discontinuation, although detailed data has not been disclosed. Alteogen plans to present preclinical results on ALT-M5’s weight-regain suppression effect at ObesityWeek 2026 in Washington, D.C., from November 14 to 17. The candidate is competing with once-monthly programs from companies including Peptron, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Yuhan Corporation, Pfizer and Amgen. Alteogen has also signed technology export contracts worth approximately 6 trillion won, or about $4.4 billion, this year and is considering either developing ALT-M5 itself or licensing it during development.
