Valor Equity Partners transferred 42,790,223 SpaceX shares, or about 8.5% of its holdings, to limited partner investors rather than selling the stock and distributing cash. Bloomberg estimated the donated stake at about $8.5 billion. The firm, founded by Antonio Gracias, retained 460,624,307 SpaceX shares, representing about 3.4% of the company. Gracias, a SpaceX board member and major shareholder through Valor, is estimated by Bloomberg to be worth $20.5 billion after adding $5.82 billion in 2026. The distribution may provide tax advantages and allows early Valor backers to realize gains while the firm maintains most of its position. SpaceX shares recently rose 2.2% to $154.20, within a 52-week range of $104.83 to $225.64, although the stock had previously been reported down about 10% from its IPO day.
