Huawei released its "Intelligent World 2035: From Vision to Action" report and the companion "Global Digital Intelligence Index (GDII) 2026" at an online event on September 16. The new edition sets out ten propositions for moving from broad forecasts to practical industrial pathways, centered on Agentic AI and the rise of token-driven computing. Huawei projects global annual token consumption will increase 100,000-fold by 2035, with agent traffic exceeding 90% of total demand. The report says this shift will require new infrastructure spanning computing, networks, cloud architecture, storage, devices, power, cooling, security and privacy. Its proposals include a 100-fold expansion in computing-cluster scale, a 1,000-fold reduction in agent task costs and a move toward supernode-based architectures. The jointly authored GDII 2026 evaluates digital-intelligence maturity across 90 countries and forecasts that artificial intelligence will generate more than $27 trillion in economic value over the next five years. It also projects annual digital-intelligence infrastructure investment growth of 19.14%, taking total investment above $4 trillion by 2030.
