Dangote Petroleum Refinery opened subscriptions on Monday the 14th for more than four billion shares, representing just over 3% of the company, in what was described as Africa’s biggest-ever offering of its kind. The shares were priced at 525 naira, with a minimum purchase of 10 shares, or about $4 (£3), while NectarFi launched a route allowing investors to apply with stablecoins through GetEquity’s capital-markets infrastructure and Solana. Heavy first-day demand overwhelmed investment apps including Bamboo, and the refinery’s offering drew broad interest from younger Nigerians using mobile trading platforms, cryptocurrencies and digital savings products. Dangote is raising funds for the refinery’s growth, but analysts warned that crude-supply, operational, regulatory and refined-product-demand risks could reduce the shares’ value.
