Posco International to acquire US shale gas assets for $550 million

Posco International agreed to acquire US shale gas assets from a Chord Energy subsidiary.
The $550 million transaction is expected to generate over 100 billion won annually from 2028.
Posco International is expanding its gas operations across production, LNG liquefaction and trading.

Posco International is acquiring a 100% stake in US shale gas assets owned by a subsidiary of Chord Energy Corp. for $550 million. The deal is expected to generate more than 100 billion won ($72 million) in annual operating profit from 2028, while broadening Posco International’s natural gas business across production, LNG liquefaction (cooling gas into liquid form) and trading.
